It's a British thing although I think other European countries celebrate it. Day after Christmas. Blue collar workers were given "Christmas boxes" that had gifts, money, food, etc. as thanks for their service. Wealthy people would give their servants the day off to spend with their family since they spent Christmas day working for the wealthy family. They'd get Christmas boxes as well.
