Casa Manana in Wichita Falls

I've been eating at Casa Manana for over 40 years. Last time I had eaten was so disappointed in the taste of food, over priced and smaller amounts of food. It had been a while since we visited so we decided to give it a second chance yesterday. Red tacos now hard and chips the same. The queso and hot sauce has a different flavor, not very good. A can coke 2.25. So sad this is not the same restaurant I so looked forward to visiting

Red taco with wine sauce is the best. The hot sauce had a wonderful flavor. Food. Atmosphere and employees were all wonderful. Highly recommend

The caso dip looks like thousand island dressing and tasted like cheese Wis. I wanted to send everything back but I was Scared they'd spit in my food

I love this restaurant. On my trips to Colorado back and forth I try to make sure I stop. The red tacosAre the best I have ever eaten. The rice was so fresh tasting. I try to spread the word about the fine dining at this establishment. I am envious of the patrons in Wichita Falls.

Went to have dinner, dont plan to ever go back, if they cant cook to my order thank they dont need my buissness. They do not like to substitute anything to contribute to a customers satisfaction

Skip everything else if you must, but make sure you get in on the red tacos. Chips are homemade and crazy good. The booths are intimate and uncomfortable but unique. The whole place is like stepping back in time (in a good way!). The Mexican Plate is more than a normal person should eat, but it's too good to leave any uneaten. The $5.00 margaritas are cool and tasty. Our service there has always been the best. Last time we were there a trio of young men in the booth next to us had potty mouths, and since they were in a booth, they were not aware that everyone could hear them. So, when you go, don't openly discuss your love life or failed conquests it more people might know about it.

Food was overly salty not tasty. They say they have the same receipe on red tacos but pioneer has better red tacos than these were. Chips were so hard could not eat them. It was a waste of money very disappointed.

I don't know who qualified this food as "mexican" but just because you serve tortillas doesn't make it Mexican. Worst food I've had in a very long time. Everything tasted like it was out of a can. White people have no business owning a Mexican restaurant.Edit: after eating this horrible meal or attempting to anyway. I ended up being up in the middle of the night with terrible heartburn and upset stomach. It was the only thing I ate all day so there were no other culprits. Please do yourself a favor and stay away.

I love Casa Manana. For about 55 years I have ordered the Special Enchiladas. Love those RED Tacos, the chili enchiladas are so great, just can’t get that wonderful taste anywhere else. But it doesn’t end there - the best chips anywhere. Crispy, crunchy goodness. Their salsa is so unique and tasty as is the queso - I’d drive just for that!! And the red wine sauce with the red tacos or on chips or to top the salad is delicious. Just made the drive again with family from the DFW area and everyone left full, satisfied and brought some chips, queso and salsa for later. The owner and staff were gracious, welcoming and attentive to our every need. We’ll definitely be back.😋😋😋 Thank you CasaManana.

Food looks and tastes gross

I should have known something was off when they offered "chips and hot sauce". The beans tasted rancid, the rice was edible at best, the "tacos" were plain, and the quesadilla was more greasy than I was comfortable with. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but Christ, that was BAD. Literately the only good thing this place has going for it are the chips.

Tried out Casa Mañana for the first time today after hearing rave reviews about their red taco. For me, tacos should be simple. Too many places try to overdo them or serve them up really soggy. I am here to tell you that the red tacos live up to their billing. Kind of crunch-chewy shell that is homemade and piping hot. Get one. The chips are also homemade, thick, and hot when they arrive at the table. Probably the best I’ve had. Refrigerator beans are also home spun. I can not address consistently issues since I’ve only been this one time. That said, our experience was very positive. Now. Go get a taco.

Best place for famous red tacos

I've been here a few times. Have always been very please with the taste of their food compared to other places. They know how to cook well.

Do not go here during lunch time. If you have a time limit forget about being served. The booths are terribly small and hard to get in and out of. The food is great but the service could be better.

Used to be a decent joint. Nowadays you must tell them to hold the hair, if you don’t, you are sure to have a nice curly hair in your canned beans. They wouldn’t even refund my full cost when I showed them the short curly—disgusting place!

If you are looking for a Mexican restaurant THIS IS NOT IT. We were passing through and stopped for a quick dinner and figured this would be a good spot in the surprisingly cute downtown area. They charge you for chips and salsa. Our nachos looked like something you make at home when you have nothing really to eat. On the plus side our margarita was REALLY good, and our waitress was pleasant. Edible just NOT MEXICAN FOOD.

Went in for lunch and we were greeted by a woman with an attitude to start, and put in our drink order with her. She walked to the back and started screaming “Ew that’s disgusting” over and over again. As we were talking about whether or not we wanted to leave we heard another yell from her saying “I tried to hit it but I missed”. We left obviously.

Good Mexican food. Great food and service. Love the chips and salsa all of which is free with your order.

Excellent! I have been eating here with my family after church, or just for special occasions for over 30 years. I recently moved back to town, and we all went out for dinner. Everything tastes like home. The hot sauce was exactly as I remember, homemade fresh thick chips, the red taco with wine sauce, everything, down to the iced tea was amazing. Order the Hombre Special, it has an enchilada with home-made chili sauce, authentic tasting rice and beans, and come with the red taco. Don’t listen to these other reviews, if you want great Mexican food in a cool downtown environment, go to the ORIGINAL Casa Manana. This is not standard bland Texmex, but rather tried and true good home cooked food. There is even the pecan candies and junior mints at the old timey register. Go get you some!

I haven't been here in 20 years, but the food is still amazing and the folks working in there are so welcoming. I recommend the red tacos cheese and onion enchiladas, and the queso.

This place was GREAT! First time I had eaten here but my husband had eaten here a few times. The sauce to put on the Red Taco was a good addition to the Red Taco. We both order the Hombre and it was delicious. We even had a sopapilla and fried ice cream for dessert and they were amazing. Great service from Bailey and I would recommend this place to everyone.

This is the Original 72 year old Casa Manana the home of the Red Taco. They may be more fancier restaurants out there but the love and history this place offers is unmatched

Food not bad. We had the Chili Rellano plate. I have never had one stuffed with mozzarella cheese topped with a tomato sauce. More Italian than Mexican, but tasty. Portions small for the price, but overall plenty of food.

Yummy yummy! What an awesome experience at Casa Mañana! Sweet servers who thoroughly described the red tacos that made this place famous. Definitely try one, even if you aren't sure. They're yummy. And the soft crunchiness (is that even a thing?!?), made for a wonderful texture. Family owned for nearly 75 years. Easy access and parking.

Some of the best Mexican food in town and great service.

Neat little spot. Bottle beer is $4. Not a huge selection. From Houston so Mexican food was not what I'm used to but also wasn't terrible either.

Great atmosphere good chips n salsa. My $15.00 meal should of been $7.99. Fancy name without the substance. Wasn't for the chips I would of had to eat again soon.

What an exceptional place to eat.How many Mexican restaurant sMake their own chips.? The salsa was great. The enchilada was outstanding and the puffy taco was superb. The waitstaff was personable and efficient. Good value.

Famous for Red Tacos. Chips are very tough and stale.

This was suggested by a local. I ordered a chicken quesadilla with beans and rice, it was very good. My sister got the frito pie and wasn't impressed. Our server was slightly rude, but given the stresses in the world today - I'm sure she had a rough day or something.

The red tacos are fantastic especially with their special taco sauce. I love their chips and salsa my wife loves the queso. My kids will eat the tamales until they're sick and then go eat some more. Casa Manana is one of our favorite places to eat so don't miss it.
